Our 10 Favourite Things To Do in Seminyak at Night

Seminyak is one of Bali’s top nightlife spots, offering everything from casual beachfront bars to elegant rooftop lounges and late-night mega clubs – plus a few more wholesome options if you'd rather keep it casual.

We’ve had more fantastic nights out here than we can count, so we’ve rounded up our favourite things to do in Seminyak at night, whether you’re flying solo, with friends and family, or on a romantic getaway.

1. Sip cocktails at Sunset Park

Sunset Park is a stylish rooftop bar sitting on top of Potato Head Suites, part of the popular Potato Head Beach Club complex. The under-the-radar spot is one of our favourite places in Seminyak for sunset drinks, with a relaxed and refined atmosphere and incredible views over Petitenget Beach and the ocean.

More laid-back than the lively beach club below, the bar serves a menu of innovative cocktails (with tropical flavours and local twists), wines, beers, and light bar snacks. Make sure to try the cassava fries - they're our fave!

There are a handful of sofa areas and long tables spread over the spacious rooftop, perfect for bigger groups, as well as bar stalls and tables for couples. We chose some of the casual seats surrounding the long bar, where the chatty bartender shared some great local recommendations while making our drinks.

With its chill vibe, great cocktails, and stunning sunset view, Sunset Park is ideal for a relaxed date night in Seminyak or a pre-dinner aperitif before heading to one of the area's luxury restaurants.

2. Party all night at some of Bali’s best nightclubs

A major nightlife hub in Bali, Seminyak is home to many of the island’s biggest and best nightclubs. Most of these venues spend their days as unassuming restaurants before later transforming into lively late-night bars, often remaining open until the early hours.

If you love to party and dance 'til dawn, these are some of the top nightclubs in Seminyak worth checking out:

Some of Seminyak’s top bars and nightclubs have a dress code and require men to wear closed-toe shoes, not flip-flops. I've been caught out before! Check ahead so you don’t get turned away at the door.

3. Laugh out loud at Seminyak's Secret Comedy Night

Bali has a growing stand-up comedy scene, thanks to many international and local comedians calling the island home. One of our favourite weekly comedy events is Secret Comedy Night, which takes place in several places across the island, including Seminyak every Saturday at the not-so-secret venue, Kilo Kitchen.

This intimate comedy night centres around audience interaction, so go with an open mind and be ready to join in. While some parts were funnier than others, we had lots of laughs and made some new friends.

4. Try mini golf and axe throwing at Shooters

Shooters is a fun, carnival-themed bar and one of our favourite places to spend an evening in Seminyak with friends, thanks to its variety of games that help encourage a little healthy competition.

The bar has several sideshow alley favourites, including indoor crazy golf, axe throwing, and target practice at a small shooting range. You can pay for each activity individually, but you’ll get the best value if you book them all in one go.

The semi-covered bar also has a handful of free mini-games to enjoy, including ping pong tables, giant Jenga, giant 4-in-a-row, and retro consoles with games like Street Fighter. You never run out of things to do here!

In keeping with the carnival theme, Shooters serves classic comfort food faves like pizza, burgers, hot dogs, and cotton candy! Drinks include indulgent milkshakes, colourful slushies, cheap beers, and plenty of creative, sweet-inspired cocktails.

Drinking is not only allowed but actively encouraged while playing the games (something that would never fly in Europe). In our experience, though, this can lead to some rather questionable axe throwing.

5. Experience La Joia Cabaret at Iron Fairies

Inspired by a whimsical, steampunk-style fairytale world, Iron Fairies is one of Seminyak's most impressive nightclub venues, filled with giant turning cogs, wrought iron staircases, hanging vials of glitter, and dimly lit nooks that give it a mysterious, underground vibe.

It’s worth dropping by any night just to check out the venue’s incredible decor. Most evenings after 8:30pm, you’ll find live music or DJs and expertly crafted cocktails.

But our favourite time to visit Iron Fairies is for their bi-monthly cabaret show, La Joia by RêvARTe. The show features dazzling costumes, glamorous (and slightly risqué) performances, and an electrifying atmosphere.

Entrance on show night is free for women (although you still need to book a ticket) and 250,000 IDR ⓘ for men, which includes your first drink.

A set dinner menu is also available during the performance, which comes with a reserved front-row table (pre-booking necessary). We opted for entry only and still managed to find seating upstairs. Although we’d recommend you arrive on time as some late arrivals had to stand.

6. Treat yourself to an evening of pampering

If you're looking for a more relaxed evening activity in Seminyak, head to one of the area's many spas and massage parlours for a little pampering. Many spas remain open until 10-11pm, perfect for relaxing after a long day.

If you’ve not tried a Balinese massage before, it’s a calming and relaxing full-body experience based on traditional healing practices. Most parlours also offer other massage types, such as deep-tissue and hot stone, as well as treatments like body scrubs, facials, manicures, and more.

Massage prices can start from as little as 140,000 IDR ⓘ per hour. Here are a few spas in Seminyak that we'd recommend:

7. Watch the sunset at La Plancha

La Plancha is a Spanish-inspired beach bar in Seminyak that's become Insta-famous for its many colourful parasols and bean bags. While you can enjoy the bar any time of day, we love to visit around sunset when you get the perfect view of the sun dipping below the horizon.

The bar has a varied menu of food and drinks, including many delicious sharing tapas dishes. Plus, you won’t need to leave your seat as the table service (or bean bag service, should we say) is fantastic.

A minimum spend of 200,000 IDR ⓘ per person applies for the beach bean bags, or you can enjoy the inside area without any minimum spend (but being on the beach is the highlight!).

Unfortunately, you cannot pre-book beach bean bags for sunset, and the bar does get pretty busy, so arrive well before sunset to claim a spot for the evening. If you’re struggling to get a seat, several neighbouring beach bars have adopted a similar style and vibe too.

8. Drink craft beers at South+East Brewing Co

With 24 beers on tap, South+East Brewing Co offers the largest selection of craft beers in Indonesia. Most beers come from local breweries right here in Bali, including Black Sand, Island Brewing, 101 Beer, and Kura-Kura.

Located just north of Seminyak in neighbouring Umalas, they have a spacious beer garden with long communal tables and views of the surrounding rice fields. A chilled spot to grab a drink with friends, the vibe picks up on weekends with DJs playing late into the night.

If you’re not a beer lover, don’t worry, South+East has well-stocked bar with all the usual drinks and a full menu of amazing South African and Indonesian fusion food.

9. Party at Mixwell with incredible drag performances

Mixwell is Bali’s most famous gay bar and nightclub, best known for its high-energy drag shows and gogo boy performances. With big parties every single night of the week, you can enjoy flamboyant and energetic tributes to pop icons like Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, and Christina Aguilera.

Whether you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community or just love drag and cheesy pop music, Mixwell is welcoming to any adults with an open mind. We visited for a friend's birthday and had a fantastic night - although we didn’t quite make it to the 3am closing time.

Entry to the club is free, and drinks are reasonably priced, but it can be difficult to get a table if you arrive later in the night.

10. Celebrate Halloween every night at Frankenstein's

For a unique family-friendly night out in Seminyak, Frankenstein’s Laboratory is a unique immersive dining restaurant and cabaret experience where it’s Halloween every day of the year.

The unusual spot is decked out with spiders, cobwebs, and skeletons, with sinister costumed staff and Halloween-themed face painting (extra fee). The restaurant hosts nightly cabaret shows with spooky performances until late, featuring a live band, creepy dances, fire shows, acrobatics, and more.

The schedule on their website overcomplicates what’s on offer. You can arrive anytime, but the earlier performances are family-friendly, while 8:30pm onwards is adults only. We expected it to get scarier after this point, but actually it just became rowdier, with drinks flowing and dancing on the tables encouraged.

Food-wise, you can order from their menu of classic pub grub, including burgers, pizza, and the largest chicken parma we’ve ever eaten. It’s not gourmet dining, but it hits the spot when you’ve already sunk a couple of syringe shots or UV drip cocktail sharers.

If you’re a family with children or a group of friends heading on a night out in Seminyak, Frankenstein’s is undoubtedly a fun and unique dining experience. But, be warned, it is super cheesy and not the spot for a romantic date night or low-key evening.
