About Us

Welcome to Bali Untold, a Bali travel blog by Emily and Kieren.

We're regular visitors to Bali and have spent over four years exploring this magical slice of paradise (across many visits). We’re still finding new things to love every time we go.

Now we want to help others discover the island’s many hidden gems and experience the parts of Bali that are often left untold.

Our Story

We’re a couple from the UK who travel full-time and have been blogging about our adventures across the globe on our own travel blogs.

We love to travel slowly, often spending several months in each location so that we get to know it well.

Between us, we have spent over four years in Bali - a place that we keep coming back to time and time again. During this time, we noticed that it's difficult to find comprehensive and useful resources about Bali from people who have spent a lot of time here.

Now that we know the island particularly well, we've decided to share our experiences with the world; Bali Untold was born.

How is Bali Untold Different?

First of all, we have visited every part of Bali. Every photo you see on this blog was taken by us (no stock photos!!) and we openly share our honest experiences.

Secondly, Bali Untold is all about offering something beyond the classic photo spots. We've spent a lot of time getting to know this beautiful island, so we can give deeper and more comprehensive travel advice.

Of course, we'll share the top attractions, but our travel guides will also unveil the hidden gems and untold wonders that make Bali truly extraordinary.

We're also focused on giving back to Bali. We will recommend ways you can be a responsible traveller in Bali and we'll be donating a percentage of the money that this blog makes to some of our favourite local charities.

Who Are We?

Kieren

I’m Kieren and I’ve been travel blogging full-time since 2020. But it was a hobby long before.

I’m best known as the man behind Wales Guidebook, the no.1 independent travel blog about my home country. I was featured in the media across Wales on my mission to visit every tourist attraction in the country.

Whilst Wales will forever have a special spot in my heart, it’s damn cold during Winter! That's why I've started spending half of my year in Asia, using Bali as a base.

Emily

I’m Emily. I’m originally from London, but back in 2018 I quit my job in the city and have been travelling full-time ever since, sharing many of my adventures on my own channel, London City Calling.

As a blogger, I’ve worked with brands including Princess Cruises and Yotel, as well as numerous international tourism boards. I’m also a freelance travel writer and have written for the likes of Time Out.

I first visited Bali back in 2020 and have been coming back regularly ever since.
