Trans Studio Bali: A Guide To Bali’s Indoor Theme Park

Hidden away on the top floors of Trans Studio Mall, you’ll find the enormous Trans Studio Bali indoor theme park, complete with river rapids, go-karting, a ninja warrior course, and even a roller coaster on the roof.

We recently spent the day at the park and have compiled this quick guide so you know exactly what to expect.

Is Trans Studio Worth Visiting?

If you enjoy visiting amusement parks, Trans Studio Bali is absolutely worth visiting. You’ll find activities for all ages and interests, from a full-sized go-karting track and terrifying rollercoaster to a line-up of family-friendly shows. We visited with friends but saw couples, families, and groups of teens enjoying the park.

Being entirely indoors (aside from the rooftop rollercoaster), it’s an excellent rainy-day activity in Bali – but is still worth a visit no matter what the weather.

The theme park is deceptively big inside, with so much to see and do. We spent a full day at Trans Studio Bali and still didn’t manage to experience everything, so we’d recommend you go early to make the most of it.

For the best price, make sure you purchase tickets ahead of time. While not the cheapest day out, once you’ve paid for the ticket, you won’t need to spend much else inside as food is relatively affordable.

Our Favourite Rides & Attractions

There are so many things to do at Trans Studio Bali that we won't mention them all, but here are our highlights;

1. Boomerang Rollercoaster

Without a doubt, the scariest ride at Trans Studio is their iconic loop de loop rollercoaster on the mall's roof! Boomerang might be smaller than your average theme park coaster, but it delivers just as much adrenaline.

There’s something about being launched around on top of a building that unlocks a whole new kind of fear. We won’t spoil the surprise, but let’s just say it’s called Boomerang for a reason!

2. Flying Over Indonesia

This ‘flying theatre’ sees you soar above some of Indonesia’s most iconic landmarks, from Borobodur to Komodo Island. The motion from the simulator, coupled with the immersive screen and 4D effects like wind and mist, really feels like you're flying. It’s a fun way to see what else Indonesia offers beyond Bali. It left us with plenty of new additions to our bucket list.

3. Formula Kart

Taking up almost an entire floor by itself, Formula Kart is Bali’s largest go-karting track. Zooming around the modern track on the electric karts was super fun and felt very safe. They are generous with the time you get on the track, but this means the wait time can be long (we waited almost 45 minutes). Make this your first stop to avoid the longer lines.

4. The Forbidden Temple Adventure (River Rapids)

Your classic theme park river rapids ride with twists, turns, and a few drops. You even go outside briefly and get a great view across Bali. Up to 4 people can ride together. Don’t worry about getting wet, we barely came away with a splash.

5. Shows and Performances

Theme park shows and performances are usually an added bonus, but at Trans Studio, they are worth going out of your way to watch. One of the performances showcases Balinese cultural dancing, but the others are more theatrical.

The Temple Raider Show was incredible! They had fire throwing, explosions, motorbike stunts, and well-choreographed fight scenes. At the end of the day, a Disney-esque parade saw a huge cast of costumed characters from children’s TV shows, action movies, and Hindu mythology make their way through the venue.

How do I get to Trans Studio Theme Park?

The theme park is located on the upper floors of Trans Studio Mall, which is just a 10-minute drive from Kuta or Seminyak. If you drive yourself, there’s plenty of car and bike parking (small fee). Alternatively, you can get a Grab or Gojek to drop you off at the entrance.

How much time should I plan to spend at Trans Studio Bali?

Spend the whole day here! We went around midday and stayed until close at 6pm, but we still felt slightly rushed trying to fit everything in.

Are there height or age restrictions?

There are no height or age limits to enter Trans Studio Bali, but many rides have height limits. For example, you must be 90cm tall to ride Flying Over Indonesia and the Ferris Wheel, 110cm to ride the Bat Glider, and 120cm to ride the Boomerang rollercoaster.

Children over 13 years old can visit the park without adults – we saw groups of teens by themselves. But don’t let the kids have all the fun; the park is great for all ages!

What is there to eat at Trans Studio Bali?

We were surprised at how affordable it was to eat at Trans Studio Bali. The park attracts many Indonesian tourists, so they have kept the prices reasonable.

Some of the food choices on offer include Wendy's, Baskin Robins, Chinese food, dim sum, burgers, hotdogs, and some local dishes such as bakso and and mie ayam. A few food vendors accept cards, but others are cash only.
