Where to Eat in Bedugul [+ What to Order]

There hasn’t always been the strongest restaurant scene in Bedugul. Popular among day trippers, there were only ever a few local warungs to choose from. But over the past year or two, the area’s dining options have grown significantly.

Now there are a handful of great restaurants in Beudgul worth sticking around for, serving everything from tasty Indonesian dishes using locally sourced ingredients to Western favourites and excellent coffee. After spending extended time here, these are our favourite places to eat in Bedugul.

Stuja di Danau

Opened in September 2025, Stuja di Danau is one of the newest restaurants in Bedugul and already one of our favourites. Set inside a traditional Balinese building, the modern spot overlooks Lake Beratan with stunning views.

Currently open from 8am to 5pm, there's only one dedicated breakfast dish, the Big Breakfast, served with eggs, bacon, sausage, and hashbrowns. But it's definitely worth coming for. This is what we got, and it earned the British seal of approval!

The rest of the all-day menu is small but well-curated. There are both Indonesian and international dishes, including Bakmie Genyol, Nasi Goreng, Chicken Karaage, Beef Oxtail, the SDD Burger, and Fish & Chips.

The restaurant is owned by Indonesian Coffee Brand STUJA, meaning it also serves the best coffee in Bedugul. There's an entire menu page dedicated to coffee, with hot, iced, manual brew, cold brew, and plenty of signature drinks.

There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Make sure to head downstairs to the restaurant's waterfront area, where there's a small pier protruding into the lake that makes for some awesome photos.

Warung Sultan

Warung Sultan is an unsuspecting local restaurant that's a must-visit for meat lovers, as it serves some of the most delicious lamb on the island.

The Lamb Shank is their signature dish and a must-order. The meat was incredibly tender and juicy, served with a rich red wine sauce and creamy mashed potatoes. It's one of our favourite dishes in Bedugul.

You can also try other lamb dishes such as lamb satay and Indonesian lamb curry. We ordered the vegetable fried rice as a side, which was fine but a little bland. We'd suggest sticking to the meat here. And get the fried bananas for dessert!

Dapur Cemara

Dapur Cemara is the on-site restaurant of the Dusun Bedugul Asri hotel, and another of our favourite places to eat in Bedugul for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The Farm-to-Table restaurant uses locally sourced ingredients from the Bedugul area in its menu of modern Indonesian-inspired dishes. Some popular dishes include Beef Rendang, Soto Ayam, and the Nasi Goreng Dusan. For something slightly lighter, the new rice bowls are super tasty.

There are plenty of Western dishes too, such as sandwiches, salads, and burgers, but we'd recommend sticking to the local food here. It's the real highlight!

The spacious restaurant has lots of seating across its two floors and large garden area. Just make sure to bring a jacket when visiting in the evening. It's one of the few restaurants open late, but it can get a little cold after dark.

It's also one of the more family-friendly restaurants in Bedugul, with a kids' play area, fish pond, table tennis table, and greenhouse with interesting displays about farming in Bali.

House of Tundra

House of Tundra is a chic, modern restaurant just south of Bedugul, spread across several floors with indoor and outdoor dining spaces and panoramic views over the surrounding valley.

Open from 8am each morning, it's one of the few restaurants in Bedugul where you can get a good Western-style breakfast or brunch. We had the Eggs Benedict, which was tasty and a super generous portion. They also have croissants, pastries, and waffles for those with a sweet tooth.

The rest of the massive all-day menu consists of varied Asian and Western dishes, including salads, fried noodles, pasta, chicken parmigiana, and veggie-packed health bowls. There are also several vegan options.

Rumah Gemuk

Originally built as a luxury wedding venue, Rumah Gemuk is a towering glass house overlooking Lake Beratan. The unique building is filled with greenery and colorful flowers, while majestic chandeliers hang from the ceiling and elegant spiral staircases wind their way to the upper floor.

When not being for weddings or photoshoots, it’s also one of Bedugul's most popular restaurants. There’s regular table seating upstairs, and a lovely lawn downstairs where you can enjoy a romantic picnic among the greenery.

We had the picnic set menu, which included a simple 3-course menu, with options like Nasi Goreng, Chicken Wrap, and Mac and Cheese, for just 265,000 IDR ⓘ for two people. The meal was served in a proper picnic basket on a ready-laid blanket with plenty of plush pillows.

The food was good during our experience, but not the best thing we’ve ever eaten in Bedugul (the chocolate brownie was the highlight!). It’s still a unique dining experience and great value for the setting and location.

Bali Strawberry Farm Resto

Bedugul is a bountiful agricultural region that's become known for its delicious, freshly grown strawberries. There are multiple farms in the area where you can go strawberry picking and try strawberry-flavoured juice and desserts.

But the most unusual strawberry dish in Bedugul has to go to the Bali Strawberry Farm Resto and their strawberry pizza. The indulgent sweet pizza is topped with strawberry jam, gooey melted cheese, and fresh strawberries.

While it may sound unusual, the pizza is surprisingly tasty and a must-try for a unique taste of Bedugul. We think it's worth stopping by for a quick snack here, especially if you enjoy pairing cheese and fruit preserves.

Kupi Coffee

Despite only serving a limited selection of pastries and cookies, KUPI Coffee had to make it onto this list as it's our favourite cafe in Bedugul for enjoying coffee with a view.

The small, local coffee shop sits on top of a hill, with a handful of outdoor tables offering stunning panoramic views over Lake Beratan and the rest of Bedugul.

The coffee menu covers all the classic espresso-based drinks, along with plenty of sweeter options like matcha latte, butterscotch coffee, and lychee milk tea.
